Seems like it's the time of year for cool new alarm clocks (see puzzle clock).This is an amazing alarm clock if you ask me. The designer who made this masterpiece, Duncan Shotton, did not just make an ordinary clock.
Agreed, this clock might look like an LED or LCD clock at first, but don't be fooled. It's actually a complicated mechanical contraption which creates a 7-segment digital illusion.
A series of cryptic looking numeric black-on-white segments are printed on vertical sliders. These sliders gradually move into position within a black masking box as to reveal the current time of day.
As time passes by, the sliders climb to the top, until the 9th digit on a given position hits. After that, the mechanism disengages and drops the slider all the way back down to the 0 position.

If you're anything like me, you hate the awful noise coming from your alarm clock every morning.Still sleepy, you decide to mute the alarm and rest your eyes for a couple of minutes. And of course, fall back to sleep and end up being late at work.
This gadget makes sure that won't happen again! The clock uses 4 pieces of one puzzle.
When the alarm goes off, the 4 pieces pop out of the clock.
You then need to hurry up and form the right puzzle with the 4 pieces, to mute the annoying sound it makes.
Very original and fun, early in the morning.
