We've seen thousands of various LCD screens, all in different shapes and sizes. But not once have we seen a curved one.AU Optronics presented this curved screen to the audience at the SID. It is believed to be the first kind in the world. A special thinning technique enabled the company to manufacture a display that has a radius of 100mm.
Because of this invention, a series of new gadgets might appear. Think of all the places where curved screens might come in handy; watches, cars, clothes, ...
You might wonder why anyone would bother buying a curved screen? We think it might be useful for companies to display advertisements in buildings or at conventions.

This LED technology 40-inch display is huge! The LEDs built-in are used for back lighting. This technology got an Innovation Award.The LEDs actually make the colors richer and nicer.
With a 100Hz refresh rate, the display sticks extra frames in the image, to control the motion blur. The technology used for the extra frame is: they take the difference between two frames and put it in between the two frames. This makes the image sharper and better to look at.
